Different flavors in the Ayurvedic flavor wheel are best for different doshas, or body types, but eating all 6 flavors is a great way to help maintain balance in the body, curb cravings, and satisfy your hunger without overeating.
A great example of this concept in practice is our Ginger Meal Starter, which includes:
- Pungent ginger
- Sour lime juice
- Sweet raw honey
- Salty Himalayan pink salt
- Bitter herbs like mint or oxallis
- Astringent turmeric
Each flavor has its own benefits for aiding the digestive process, and by starting out with all six before a meal, you can effectively cleanse your palate and stoke your agni, or digestive fire.
